John Muir: A Reading Bibliography by Kimes was first compiled and annotated by William F. Kimes & Maymie B. Kimes in 1977 with an extensive update for the 1986 edition. The bibliography includes citations to Muir's nearly 300 published pamphlets, journal articles, speeches, and other writings.
