Mr. John Muir,
Martinez, Cal.
.Dear Sir:
I write to inquire whether you contemplate visiting Southern California during the coming summer. If so we should like to have you occupy the platform of our California Chautauqua for one lecture. The subject may be of your own selection. We shall have a day---morning, afternoon and evening---devoted to Forest Reserves, Government Parks, Mountain Watersheds, etc. and it will be a good opportunity for you to speak your word to the people of California.
Yours very truly,
Wm H Knight
Kindly let me hear from you at an early date and oblige K.
