Dear Mr Marshall:
Ive been laid up with the Grippe most all winter - the 3d attack nearly made an end of me While my daughter Helen had a 4th attack of pneumoni[illegible] & I had to take her to the Mohave desert, near Daggett, where she is getting better. No end of trouble these last years, but I must not complain after so long & free a life.
Do you ever hear anything on the Hetch Hetchy?
With love to your charming family I am
faithfully yours John Muir
