thanking me for book of photos special
Martinez, Dec 26, 1900.
My dear Mr Lukens.
I thank you heartily for the handsome book of photographs which I know cost much pains & time & money. How well they illustrate your long delightful wanderings especially in the Sierra & San Gabriel. Apart from its beauty & the friendliness it shows, it will be very useful to me in my studies & ever remind me of the trips we made on the Upper [illegible] I wish I could send you something that would give you anything like as much pleasure. Remember me with best wishes for the New Year to Mrs Lukens & Lottie. I hope she will like the letter book I picked out for her. Come & see us.
Ever Yours
