glorious fire.
saw little bird seeking shelter in [cove] of sage
Next morn [morning] all clear. the plain & the mtn [mountain] white

in bloom but not equal, the rounded [Inyos] & nearer lava ranges, white with tintings of gray & brown when wind blew off the snow & as if to show how easily it could bear gls [glaciers] large white clouds rolled heavily down the can [canyon] startled sage hens from sage [coves]
