[winds] beautiful silvery gray of delicateness of [tent] indescribable these in well marked [ ] came sailing from unseen fountains of the W ward [Westward] & as they approached sun were [irised] in the most gorgeous yet delicate of color exceedingly [clear] & pure like the lips & [ ] of shells
To see the iris the eyes have to the shaded from the direct sun rays
Ascended the pks [peaks] in afternoon. Clds [clouds] gathered

about [ ] now [dissolving] now thickening & shooting down into filling up the canons [canyons] with wonderful rapidity, never before beheld so great a display of cloud motion about & above & beneath me
Hurried down from amid thicket of [stone] spires to tree [line] & water, reached both at dark grand mtn [mountain] [ ] above[!] my camp. A rushing stream [crawls] past its base
[Willowy] on side dwarf flexilis the other
