pk [peak] apparent white sublime in magnificent cld[cloud] [robes] [5 ms] & ice laden to [summit]. A noble spectacle rising from the Malaspina ice plain. At 4PM started up the bay not hoping to go far with the ship intending to be put off below Henche[Haenke] Island. But finding a strip of fairly open water along the east side we steamed all the way to the head of Enchantment Bay & anchored for the [Sketch: Hubbard Gl[acier] 20 ms away] night. The scenery wild & beautiful & enchanting All agreed to leave of[f] the Dis from the name The slopes of the mtns around Enchantment bay mostly [low] & green & yel[low] & purple with grass willows alders & cottonwood & hundreds of species of [charming] flowers & mosses. A large hairy bossy [headed] lupine. [Epilobium latifolium] a charming purple flrd rubus in large [Sketch: Dalton Gl[acier]]
