Sketch: Looking south from near head of grand rapids from canon of N F of S F of R R Yo. The sphinx occupies the same relative position here as the Gla Pt does in Yo. The nut pine rather common here. The rapids or cascades flowing on folds of granite wh inclined is strewn with huge boulders in wh the stream burrows. Continuous rapid for 5or 6 ms. Gl polish in patches. Fine cascade falls into main cascade between the uppermost of 3 pks above Tiss making 3 in all, small ones on W side and ava channels,
