Special 66Martinez Dec. 3. 1898Mr dear JohnsonI thank you for forwarding my letters & looking back on the New York days of my trip, for your wise & steady kindness in every way The night marches through New York & meetings with Hobson & Tesla are especially notable.I had a grand time in Florida with Sargent among the palms & pines & vines & magnolias. We parted at a place called - Archer, Fla. & I made my way home by New Orleans stopping two days at Mobile to see the forests there, & one day at New Orleans.In setting out we spent a day at Wilmington another at Baltimore & another at Washington, driving out eight or ten miles to see the parks.
