2Your letter brings back our last summers icy Alaska trip, all the memories of which are pleasant. I'll be glad to get the photo of the little Menzies Spruces.On your return trip on the Great Northern do not fail to stop off a day or two at Lake McDonald near the summit of the Rockies. I spent three or four days there last summer & it is charming No end of trout there, & fine wild glacial scenery. You will thank me I am sure for this advice. Also when at McDonald go to Avalanche Lake 10 miles up the tributary of the Flathead RiverWith pleasant memories,I am ever Yours John MuirPlease send word of your arrival at the Palace[in margin: Hotel so that my sister may join you in the Yosemite trip]
