2I have been here two weeks writing Washington's Puget Sound regimen could not get under way on the ranch & so came down here for quiet. Have been lonsome since you left. Finished my long story last evening & am going home today. Wasn't Bidwell a jolly old boy. & wasn't Mrs Midwell charming? Hope you were successful in getting the history material you wanted & that you enjoyed the ride over the Siskiyou [Hills?] & that when you were at Puget Sound the atmosphere was clear of smoke & that you had good view of Mt Rainer. Have you been to the Park since your return to N.Y. The Central Park I mean. If so how looks it.Ever truly yours John Muir
