Grand HotelSan FranciscoJuly 18th 1889My dear Mr Johnson,The Examiner published some two weeks ago a long article made up of what is supposed to be your sayings on the Yosemite question. It seems to have been very carefully prepared, & expresses your views very fairly. Dont know who wrote it - perhaps Hamilton. I will send you copy if you care to see it. Last week the Argonaut published a reply to your Examiner interview & it was very bitter. It is in Pixleys style but is signed, John P. Irish, Editor-of the [illegible] "As bees bizz out we angry fyke when plunderin hordes assail their byke" so bizz & fyke the Yosemite commissioners about Century Johnson.
