Abstract
Family Resource Center (FRC) focuses on providing resources for parents and childcare providers within San Joaquin County. Working with FRC is 211; 211 is a non-emergency call line that acts like a one-way connection between callers and community resources. As a service fellow with FRC, I have learned that 211 is an extremely helpful and beneficial tool. It can connect individuals with multiple resources across San Joaquin County for different needs, such as finding new homes (Coordinated Entry system), receiving dental care (SJTeeth), and transportation (ACE Train). While working within the 211 department, I have noticed that a current limitation of the service is outreach. This service project focuses on creating a video to promote and inform viewers about each program that 211 works with and assist the department in revitalizing its social media. The video covers 211 as a whole, who they are, what they do, and its benefits to callers and the broader community. The video was made using digital motion tweening animation in order to generate high quality visuals and send an effective message. As social media engagement and presence become more important elements of an organization's success, the video aims to increase awareness of 211 as a valuable and available resource to residents in San Joaquin County.
