Abstract

The handheld VMA scan-and-print product is a device that scans construction materials and prints labels to create a more organized system. To avoid mishaps, hazards, and disruptions, it contributes to a safer, better-constructed workflow. VMA is accompanied by an app that connects the handheld scanner to the worker’s phone via Bluetooth. After scanning and labeling, the worker can organize the materials in the work system using the app linked via Bluetooth. The engineering team came up with the product's name, designed and developed its functionality and physical form. At the same time, the graphic design team was in charge of creating its website, packaging, instruction manual, digital mockups, labels, and any other promotional materials the engineering students need to launch their product the designers are also tasked in creating scanner's function, and app via Bluetooth and its branding, to amplify its identity and effective advertisement of VMA and develop ways to advocate for its usefulness and reliability to appeal to specific audiences, including industrial workers, construction, IT, etc.
