Abstract/Artist Statement
After understanding the demand for empowerment of local not-for-profit entities, it would sound reasonable to take an approach that would involve unprecedented creativity. It is foreseeable that the powerful connection of podcasts will make a meaningful impact on the San Joaquin County community, which can benefit from greater utilization of the media. The growing influence of podcasting is anticipated to be reflected in the upcoming podcast room at United Way of San Joaquin County. It is hopeful that this is a worthwhile investment in the community, particularly in the not-for-profit sector, and that the space is used productively. We want this to be an empowering experience for the organizations within the community, considering the current objective of United Way of San Joaquin County is to “be bolder.”
United Way of San Joaquin County is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of people through mobilizing the caring power of communities. In doing so, fundraising for other local not-for-profit organizations is involved alongside building the capacity of nonprofits through education and collaboration. The podcast room is projected to play a considerable role in building the capacity of nonprofit organizations through podcasting providing an authentic connection between the organization and client, as it potentially would in any other corporate setting. The power of the human voice can be reflected in podcasting, particularly when it comes down to the pressing issues of the community that nonprofit organizations are called to address. Lastly, the impact that this project is set to have will serve as a reminder of the values of the wonderful organization that United Way is.
