Abstract/Artist Statement
Education is one of the most crucial elements in one’s life. It is essential to be able to have access to opportunities in life and to raise one’s voice to fight for what we believe. Education is power and power can change situations and lives. Early thinking about education can lead to it happening in the future. And the more ready the student is, especially economically, the easier it will be and encourage them to seek higher education. Knowing the importance of education is necessary to inform the parents about the resources that they have and how they can begin planning for the future of their kids. San Joaquin A+ is grounded in this idea, and knows that the children of San Joaquin have potential to build a better tomorrow. An analysis of their program Children Savings’s account for 3-4 year olds attending public preschools that was recently launched will be done. This analysis will include the challenges that it is facing, such as the lack of trust, and the impact that it has had in its first year of release. Along with this, possible solutions will be addressed. This information will be published in the San Joaquin A+ site with the aim of not only reaching parents who don’t know about the program but also to update parents whose children are enrolled in the program.
