Abstract/Artist Statement
In this series, I continue to explore my relationship with religion and the effect it has had on my artwork. As I continue to make art, I often find myself gravitating toward religious themes to inform my work. In doing so, it has made me realize that religious imagery has a greater impact on the overall outcome of my work. In doing so, it recently became apparent to me that I do not know much about my religion, which is something that I have decided to change. This series enabled me to take an academic approach to the Catholic religion and learn about the rich history and traditions that I have participated in from a young age but know little about. This series reveals my newfound knowledge along with information that I have gathered throughout the years of practicing the Catholic religion.
