Abstract/Artist Statement

Service-learning project designed to give a brief overview of common issues and their proposed solutions/strategies in the educational and recreational context of an after-school program at Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Lodi Unified School District. Issues identified were behavioral issues among students, lack of consequences for student behaviors, and lack of authoritative consistency among the after-school program staff. Proposed solutions and strategies were the introduction of consistent behavioral contingencies, incentives, and staff management reform. A survey was conducted to collect data from the after-school student population that provided feedback to the school program.
