Dear Louie,
We arrived here this morning & have just had breakfast, we left Vesalia at 6.15 P.M. yesterday after a rapid run up & down the mountains through the Sequoia Park to the summit of the Western axis of the Sierra. The rapidest mountaineering I ever did. Very unlike my last in this wild region when 20 years ago I made a three months trip from Yosemite with the little brown mule that spoke better than Balam's. We are going in a few moments to call on Lummis, then to Pasadena & San Gabriel Mtns., San Bernardino Jacinto etc. Lukins I fear has not yet returend from the mtns
Ever yours
