My darlings Helen & Wanda
I slept last night in a box called a Pullman Upper & of course feel pretty stupid but I thought of you & Mama the first thing & so that shows I am quite well.
I wish you could have been with me up the mtns to see the pines & silver firs & brown giant Sequias but the road was awful dusty, & long, - sixty miles Friday & 60 yesterday bedies all this railroad business in bunk. The soldiers took good care of no & we saw ten species of conifers & rocks & waterfalls many O.
Here are some silver fir seedlings & Erogonum etc with love [my?] dears
