New Haven, July 8, 1872 [ ] Muir, Yosemite Valley, Cal. Dear Sir: I was very much interested by a letter of yours in the NY tribune last year […] the Yosemite. It […] my views and convictions exactly regarding the wonderful part glaciers have played in that truly remarkable region. I had traced the glaciation, as you have, into the side valleys. A short article of mine presented to the French Academy in 1867 may interest you, and I inclose [sic] a copy. Respectfully yours, W.P. Blake
