Martinez Nov. 25, 1914Dear Mr Shepardson:I have always admired the lively mountaineers of the south section of the Sierra Club, and I'm sure none of you can doubt that I would be delighted to join you in your holiday outingBut a confounded lot of work, duties, & all sorts of troubles have ruthlessly held me at home ever since I returned from Africa & South America. As soon however as I can find an opening I'll gladly pay you all a visit: And in the meantime whenever any of you are in San Francisco be sure to come to my house, and always let me know when I can do anything for you. With heartiest greetings & all good wishes I am ever faithfully yoursJohn Muir
