IN THE HEART OF THE ROCKIESWITH THE PINES, BIRDSAND WILD FLOWERSENOS A. MILLSLONGS PEAK, ESTES PARKCOLORADOLONG'S PEAK INNNov. 24, 1914.Mr. John Muir,Martinez,California. My dear Mr. Muir:I am glad to have your letter and I hope that all goes well with you. I shall probably leave for Washington in a few days to help to set things moving for the conservation of scenery. You will be glad to know, I am sure, that during the next twelve months there is likely to be more good work done for the conservation of scenery than has been done during the last ten years. After years of trial I have interested a number of powerful people and we plan to start a publicity campaign in this direction. As you well know, it is the work that you have done that has encouraged me in all that I have accomplished and in the big work I am planning to do. If you will push along another book or two these books will help the cause far more than you imagine. With best wishes,Faithfully yours,[illegible]05885
