Home May 26, 1914Darling Helen, I'm so glad to have your good health and happiness repeated in your bright glad letters I'm always listening for more. Our good faithful friend Mr Parsons died suddenly a few days ago of heart disease. He was one of the most active & useful members of the Sierra Club & will be sadly missed.I'm keeping well & stupidly busy. The Alaska book is consuming a lot of time & I want to finish the first draft of it before I go to the mountains. It has been too cold & wet to go sooner anyhowI'm glad to get good tidings of the good judge. Remember me to him with sincere regard - all the Funks also. Write Soon. Ever your devoted fatherJohn Muir
