Pasadena, Cal..April 18 - 1914.My dear Mr. Muir,-I am taking the liberty of writing a little note of appreciation to you. I want to say how much I have enjoyed reading, both to myself and students, your book telling of your Boyhood and Youth. It has been such an inspiration in so many ways, and that is what we teachers need so much.I have read parts of the book05738
to those just entering the high school and those who are finishing this year. They all join with me in thanks and appreciation to you for all the good things you have given us.As an instructor of English I have found your books more helpful than I can say. They are so truly alive.Another point I must add is this - Miss Kellogg recently persuaded me to join the Sierra Club and it is a constant source of pleasure,Very sincerely yoursHarriet L. McClay.
