[letterhead]Oct. 2, 1912My dear Mr. Muir:Here is some information about some of the most desirable property in the vicinity of my house. The orchard just across is a ten-acre piece, priced at $20,000, which the owner does not wish to divide. At first the prices furnished by Mr. Gianetti rather staggered me, but a little figuring made it clear that a piece 200 x 200 at $2500.0005280
was not so very much higher proportionately than I paid for my little lot three and one half years ago.I am enclosing a Pasadena map, on which you will be able to locate the pieces mentioned. My house is marked by a cross (about 6-H), to give you an idea of the location of these lots.Mr Gianetti, who furnished the information, remarked on the good fortune of the neigh-borhood in which you might decide to buy. Of course, I can't help hoping that may prove to be our neighborhood. With kind remembrances to your daughter, I am,With affectionate regard,Your friendMary Frances Kellogg
