H. F. Reid608 Cathedral St.Baltimore. Jul 7, 1911My dear Mr. Muir,How I wish I could go with you up the Amazon & over the Andes! But my summer is marked out. I sail tomorrow on the Celtic for England where I shall attend the meeting of the International Seismological Association; and then I spend a few weeks05068
among the Norwegian glaciers, followed by a meeting of the International Glacier Commission then about the end of August; and then I shall come home. Perhaps another summer we may go out together. My mother is in bed with a broken leg, so Mrs. Reid does not go to Europe with me.I grieve over the loss ofyour wife and wish I could have known her and your children when they were children. My boy goes to Oxford next autumn; he is nineteen and Doris will be sixteen in September. I trust they may not be much older before the know you.Mrs. Reid joins me in warm love to you.I am faithfully your friendHarry Fielding Reid
