Martinez, May 14, 1909Dear Sister Mary:I was glad to get tidings of you, in the midst of overwork bother & trouble Helen was five weeks in hospital lately with typhoid She is now on the Mohave desert near Daggett, & is rapidly convalessing. We are all well here as far as I know. Wanda has two boys & Johnnie Reid's wife has twins - a boy & girl. Maggie is better than usual - so are Sarah & David I'm living alone in the big house on the hill - pretty lonely but too busy to sulk or growl.Ever affectionately our brotherJohn Muir
