EL TOVAR, GRAND CANYON, ARIZONAFRED HARVEYApr. 11,1909My dear Mr Muir:We were so glad to get the good news in your letter of the 6th, we had felt very badly about your daughter's illness, and our warmest sympathy was with you; and now we rejoice with you over her recovery.we appreciate very much the lovely things you say about the stay at El Tovar, but those days could not have been more enjoyable to any of you, dear Mr. Muir, than to us, and we were sorry indeed to see you all depart. But please don't forget that you have only gone for a short time and that we are looking for you again in the fall, and we hope for a much longer stay.Yes, we knew the Burroughs part of the "quadrilateral party" were in Pasadena, having heard from them since they arrived.The books have come, and not only I but everyone around has read Stickeen and all are as enthusiastic about it, we just love the little fellow. He was really human at the last, I think. I shall prize that book, and indeed any that you have sent me.
