Daggett, Cal. Feb. 23-09Dear Papa-Your letter of the 20th came yesterday and I was so glad to hear from you, but surprised that you were still at Adamana, for in your note from San Francisco you spoke as tho' you would be at the "forests" only a few days. So I hurried at note to you at the Canyon, explaining why I was not at the station to see you as you went through on No. 4. Your note from the city telling me you were to start the next night for Adamana didn't reach me till the day after you had passed through Daggett, so I didnt know anything about your trip till too late. Are you going to stop off here on your way home? If you feel you cant spare the time for that, at least come by on No. 3 and telegraph me so I can go up and see you a few minutes at the station.Im glad you are going over the forests again - especially the North region, and wish I could be with you, but am glad you didnt arrange for me to join you as I know04446 2Im better off right here for the time being. How is the weather there? [Nicely?] I suppose. Im well and cheerful as ever. Remember me kindly to all the Adamana friends.Always lovingly yoursHelenWrite me again before you leave Adamana.04446
