Home Jan. 13, 1909Darling Helen-I'm always so glad these dark stormy days to get good tidings of you in a sunny healing climate. Excepting last Saturday & Sunday Rain fog & mud ruled supreme & today a regular southeaster is blowing. In Portland business has been at a standstill for many days - heavy snow with a temp of 12°.We are all muddy & well. I have to get two more deeds made for you to sign. With kind regards to all & love to youFaithfully John Muir
