Darling Helen,
Tom neglected getting the Ex orders as he promised. Yesterday he sent his brother to Martinez to get them & forgot to take the letter. So Mr Borland sent the orders. Hope they reache[d?] ere this. I ought to have attended to the business myself.
My heavens & stars What a visit you have had, or visitation rather. That feminine schemer has the brass & money-greed & acre-greed & impudence etc of the very etc etc etc They complained of the cold weather Hope you were colder than the weather.
