Mr. John Mulr,
Martinez. Cal.
Dear Mr. Muir:-
I had the pleasure of seeing an extremely Interesting photograph yesterday, which was taken by Mr. Herbert W. Gleason. It was entitled "John Muir and Stlckeen." I wonder whether you recall it. With this in my mind I am led to drop you a line in regard to the manuscript, as ws all are anxious to have the "adventure" put forth in permanent form. Were you able to get as far ahead on your literary work at the ranch as you hoped? May we expect to receive "Stickeen"

We are also eagerly awaiting your Yosemite volume, but I can well understand that this cannot he hurried.
The pleasant memory of my Sunday with you at Martinez still lingers, and I trust that I may be as fortunate should I be in the West next year.
Very truly yours,
Benj H [illegible]
