Dear Muir:
See these letters.
I've done everything I could to block Phelan's game, sending to the President, Garfield, and Pinchot letters from Bourne, Colby, Robinson & yourself, and backing them up. I fear that we have lost.
I go to the White House Conference next week.
How I'd like to see you again!
Faithfully yours,
Mr John Muir
