[in margin: Special 99]Martinez, March 11, 1908Dear Mr Johnson:I thank you for the kind things you say about the naming of the Tamalpais Redwoods None deserves such honor more than yourself, & I sincerely hope that some similar forest monument may be yours ere long. [Your idea of a convention of Governors is great in every way.]A severe attack of the Grippe (the 3d this winter) came near making an end of me. I am slowly convalescing & hope soon to get into the Sierra for a reviving breath of air. Helen is getting well in Mohave desert after a fourth attack of pneumonia. Hetch Hetchy affairs seem hopeful.Faithfully yours John Muir
