Martinez. Nov. 19. 1902.
Mrs. A. D. Sharon,
Palace hotel, S. F.
Dear Madam:
I am sorry to say that I cannot be present tomorrow at the meeting of the committee in charge of the California Club's bill for saving the Calaveras Big Trees. I am heartily with yon, however, and at a recent Directors’ meeting of the sierra Club it was resolved that we do all in our power to assist the California Club in this noble work, and a committee was appointed to confer with yours for concerted action.
Bidding you Godspeed, and devoutly praying your efforts may be crowned with complete success, i am,
faithfully yours,
