as to hand book on trees
Martinez Jan. 16, 1901
My dear Mr Lukens,
The little handy tree book you propose would be useful to campers & travelers in general & might I think be made readable; but I have so much on my hands at present it will be long ere I can undertake any new work. Such a book should include the shrubs, & the showiest of the flowers. You must know most of them yourself by this time. I have not heard from Mrs Carr for six months or more. Do you know how she is? With best wishes I am
Ever Yours John Muir.
