My dear Mr. Page,
I've been half dead all winter with Grippe and of course the crop of copy is very poor. I hope to send in my contribution to the Burroughs book in a month or two. It will only be a small lean scrawny sketch anyhow and might well go into one of the dry solemn science volumes.
Thanking you for your kind letter and heartily wishing you good luck as a publisher,
I am
Cordially yours,
JOHN MUIR
