EDUCATIONAL DEPARTMENT

Dear Dr. Muir:

We thank you for your favor of October 16, in which you accede to our suggestion of the school edition of Stickeen. You may be sure that we shall take pleasure in circulating this book as widely through the schools as possible.
It has occurred to us that you might like to write an introductory note to this school edition, designed particularly for the school children of the country. If this suggestion appeals to you, we shall be glad to have you send us such an introduction at your early convenience. You could make the introduction as long or as short as you desire, say, from five to ten printed pages.
At the meeting of our directors this morning, we discussed your suggestion that we help you in your fight for the preservation of our National Parks, and we shall give this suggestion our very careful consideration.

We are, with kind regards,

Faithfully yours,
Houghton Mifflin Company
