Dear Johnson
Don't fret about Sullivan, I never looked for any effective help from his company & warned Mr Parsons not to count on that engineer's report on the Mokelumne, but on the simple truth that there was no need & could be none to justify the invasion of the Yosemite Park for water power or water for S. F. or any other city.
Keep cherrily bravely on
I think we must best them yet Don't fret about expenses
With many thanks
Ever thine
