My dear Mr Muir
Your kind letter reached me while in Nevada. We were very sorry you did not come to Sacramento. We wanted the great pleasure of having John Muir ours for a few days again.
I talked with Mr Pinchot regarding Hetch Hetchy and urged in every way I could against making it a resevoir - I know, Mr Muir, you can do more than any one to prevent this course against nature. Do not give up take the matter up direct with the President - write - wire or go to Washington to see him - I, as a member of the Sierra Club will gladly stand a share of your expense -
I will be in Washington this winter and hope I may be consulted about it, if so, I shall do all in my power to save it as a valley-
Mrs Marshall joins me in the warmest regards and the children send their purest little love to Mr Muir
Sincerely
R. B. Marshall
