Dear Mr. Har[riman]:Just a heart word [of] greeting at the beginning of the year. This so-called financial political storm, like every other, will pass away, leaving all that's good clearer and better. You have done a giant's work in the past years, among a thousand other things less easily seen, making the country's ways straighter, smoother, stronger, safer, bettering and befriending most everybody.
That in this enduring world's work you may take right good comfort, and that the good Lord of all will continue to bless you and Mrs. H[arriman] and your fine,hopeful,fast-growing grove of manly womenly boys and girls, is the prayer of your friend,
