My dear Mr. Muir,
I have come out to this region as a member of the Earthquake Commission, and find that we are not very far apart. It has been a long time since I have seen you. Mr. Reid & I were much distressed by the bad news in your letter last winter, and I have been wanting to write you ever since; but you know how easy it is to neglect writing.

Are you to be at home on Sunday? & would it be convenient to you if I should go to see you on that day? Please drop me line & let me know; and if it is convenient for me to come tell the best way & time.
With kindest regards
I am yours faithfully
Harry Fielding Reid.
