Dear Mr Johnson,
I thank you very much for your friendly sympathetic letters. Helen after growing strong here had a severe relapse but is now fast recovering lost ground, though of course I am still anxious & useless as far as literary work is concerned.
Reports about my health were all greatly exaggerated. I have not been sick at all-only tired out & stunned. As soon as Helen is well I hope to get to work, Wanda who also was tired out, is here the strongest of us all.
Ever faithfull & gratefully yours
John Muir
