Professor John Muir
My dear Sir--
I do not know whether you will remember me or not; but I met you once in 1889 at the house of Mr. Swett in San Francisco, and was introduced to you by his lovely daughter Emily, since deceased.
My table last summer had on it your interesting book, "The "Mountains of California," of which Imade a notice and from which I made extracts, which I inclose to you, thinking you might like tosee them.
-Very respectfully yours,
Earl Marble
