My dear Sellers,
I feel poor & disappointed that I am not to see you this summer & hope I may at least meet you here in the fall. I fondly trust that Mrs. Sellers is well ere this & will not fail to come to us ere the year is done.
I shall probably go sauntering in the Sierra to see how my mountain gardens in the National Yosemite Park grow since the soldiers have been keeping the sheep out of them, returning perhaps about September. I hope you enjoyed my icy article in the June Century. Don't be afraid to believe it. It is all true & far more. I saw Keith last Saturday. He is well & doing fine work & making much money.--too much I fear for his good.
We are all about as usual, & I am ever
Very truly your friend
