Dear Friend John
About the middle of June last, I sent you a great long letter, 8 or 9 pages enclosing New York Draft, for 100 dollars, from C. H. Jay, and endorsed by him. I have not heard anything from it, and have become some what anxious, to ascertain what became of it. There might be other John Muirs in your town. The $100.00 is the payment of Jay's part of the indebtedness to you. I have been thinking that you may have been away from home, engaged on some important work; or seeing that I have written you such a long letter, you regard the answer as something of a job, and do as I do, pospone for a good convenient time, which seems never to come. That kept me a year from answering one of your most important letters
We are all fairly well I am continuing daily at the drawing board and hope you are enjoying good health Please drop me a line at least regarding the draft As ever your friend
