It will be useless to send my letters to the old address via London now that we are staring for Vladvostock.
After reaching the Pacific I dont know where I may go But you may send a personal letter or two telling of your welfare etc at a venture addressed thus "John Muir Care of Prof C.S. Sargent Hong Kong & Shanghai Commercial Bank, Shanghai" & if I should not go there

it would be forwarded It will take perhaps a month or more to get to Vladvostock as we will stop off here & there, mostly beyond Lake Baikal, to study the forests. Thence I may go to Japan while Sargent is in lower China around Pekin, Mukden Port Arthur etc place I do not fancy especially at this time of year. I feel so relieved by your little telegram but would like a letter from each of you. Good bye again with love
