DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR,

Washington,

March 2, 1893.
,
Mr. R. U. Johnson,Century Company,Union Square, New York, N. Y.

Dear Mr. Johnson:

I thank you for yours of the 27th and beg to say that l have read the editorials mentioned in the Post, the Sun and the Times with much gratification. You have, no doubt, already received the additional set of 25 copies of the report which you requested. Miss scidmore appeared here to-day requesting copies of photographs, and facts in regard to forest reserves, saying she was connected with the Century Magazine. This I suppose is true and I so accredited her; if not so please advise me.
Please accept my thanks for all your kindnesses, and believe me.

Sincerely your friend,

John W. Noble,

Secretary.
