big Washington trees
Martinez, July 17, 1897
My dear Mr Lukens,
I am going north soon into the woods with Prof. Sargent & I write now to ask you to send me particular directions how to find those '400 or 500' feet trees you told me about on Puget Sound. We mean to visit & measure them. Also send specimen cones or leaves or both of that Paton Hemlock you saw in the San Gabriel Mountains. & of the great oaks.
With love to Lottie
I am very truly Yours
